Little Keepers Foundation is a holistic learning community supporting homeschooling, world-schooling and alternative education families.
Children learn through real-world experiences, project-based learning, creativity, nature connection and community engagement, with each child encouraged to follow their interests, build on their strengths and develop a lifelong love of learning.
By connecting families with educators, mentors, workshops and meaningful learning opportunities, Little Keepers creates a supportive community that nurtures the whole child—mind, body, heart and spirit—while helping families create personalised education pathways.

Miniature Goat Experiences with Zendara Farm
Kidding season has arrived at Zendara Farm, bringing a new group of miniature baby goats to The Farm Byron Bay.
Meet the playful Nigerian Dwarf kids, learn a little more about these remarkable animals, and spend time cuddling and connecting with the herd.
Adults and children welcome. Limited sessions available during kidding season.

FULL EXPERIENCE | 60 MINUTES
10 minutes learning + 50 minutes goat cuddles
Begin with a short introduction to life with goats, including kidding, caring for goats and the basics of making soft goat’s cheese, followed by plenty of time with the herd.
You’ll have the opportunity to:

Learn about mating, pregnancy and kidding
Learn about caring for goats and their role on the land

FARM KIDS | Spring School Holiday Workshops
Ages 5 and over
Join us these spring school holidays for a series of hands-on Farm Kids workshops and Mini Farmers days designed to connect children to real working farm life.
Each session begins with an interactive and educational tour of The Farm. Children will meet our cows, goats, chickens, sheep and bees, explore the flower crops, herb garden, orchard and veggie gardens, and learn how everything works together.

We introduce concepts such as pollination, healthy soils, composting, seasonal growing and regenerative farming in ways that are practical, playful and grounded in real farm experiences. Along the way, children will meet our friendly farm animals and, when available, taste fresh herbs, edible flowers and seasonal produce straight from the garden.
Learning is hands-on, sensory and rooted in connection to land, food, plants and animals.

Thursday 24 September | Workshop – Sunshine & Sunbeams!
9.30am – 12.30pmCelebrate the arrival of spring while discovering why sunshine is one of nature’s greatest gifts. Children will learn how the sun helps plants grow, supports wildlife and provides the energy that keeps our gardens thriving through playful outdoor investigations.
Activities include making a natural zinc sunscreen, painting a vibrant sunshine-inspired artwork and exploring the farm to discover the important relationship between sunlight and life.
Friday 25 September | Mini Farmers – Buzz & Bloom!
9am – 3pmStep into the fascinating world of bees and discover why these tiny pollinators are some of the hardest-working creatures on the farm. Children will learn how bees help grow our food, why flowering plants depend on pollinators and how we can create bee-friendly gardens at home.
Activities include rolling a pure beeswax candle, building a bee watering station to take home and enjoying a calming herbal tea ceremony with local honey.
Wednesday 30 September | Workshop – Nature Makers!
9.30am – 12.30pmSlow down, explore and create using nature’s own treasures. Children will discover native seed pods, fragrant herbs and edible plants while learning about the incredible diversity growing around us.
Activities include painting native seed pods, making fragrant herb wands to dry at home and enjoying a guided nature walk to discover edible weeds and Australian bush foods.
Thursday 1 October | Mini Farmers – Feather & Nest!
9am – 3pmDiscover the amazing world of chickens and eggs while learning how pasture-raised hens play an important role on a regenerative farm. Children will explore the life cycle of an egg, learn how chicks develop and meet our feathered farm friends.
Activities include making eggshell beeswax candles, cooking pikelets using fresh farm eggs and candling eggs to discover what’s hidden inside before they hatch.
Friday 2 October | Mini Farmers – Hooves & Hearts!
9am – 3pmSpend the day with some of the farm’s friendliest animals while discovering how goats help regenerative farms. Children will learn about caring for goats, what they eat, why they are excellent browsers and the many products goats provide.
Activities include decorating fresh muffins with homemade goat’s cheese icing, designing a dream goat paddock, and feeding and patting the goats while learning about their care.
Wednesday 7 October | Workshop – Lavender & Calm!
9.30am – 12.30pmRelax, create and discover the calming qualities of one of the farm’s most loved plants. Children will explore the lavender garden while learning how this beautiful herb has been used for centuries.
Activities include blending soothing lavender bath salts, sewing a lavender pillow to take home and wandering through the lavender garden to discover the many uses of this fragrant plant.
Thursday 8 October | Mini Farmers – Flower Power!
9am – 3pmCelebrate the beauty of spring flowers while learning why blooms are so important for bees, butterflies and healthy gardens. Children will explore flowering plants, discover how flowers become seeds and help create colourful spaces for future visitors to enjoy.
Activities include making a flower crown, designing a posy to take home and planting a colourful flower row in the farm garden.
Friday 9 October | Mini Farmers – Woolly Wonders!
9am – 3pmMeet our gentle sheep and discover the journey from fleece to fibre. Children will learn how wool is grown, harvested and transformed into clothing while getting up close with our flock.
Activities include making a sheep pom-pom, learning simple weaving techniques using natural wool, and feeding and patting the sheep while discovering how wool becomes one of nature’s most sustainable fibres.

Baylato | Hands in Clay, Smiles with Gelato Kid's Workshop
A fun, hands-on workshop where kids create their own clay masterpieces inspired by farm life and ice cream, then celebrate with a Baylato gelato cone. Guided by local potter Paola Zlatar, children will explore shapes, textures, and hand-building techniques in a safe and creative environment.

Let your child’s imagination run wild in this fun, hands-on creative workshop where clay and gelato come together in the sweetest way!
Guided by local potter Paola Zlatar (@paola_zlatar_ceramics), kids will:
Hand-build and decorate their very own clay creations
Take inspiration from farm life, animals, and of course, ice cream 🐓🌱🍨
Learn three different hand-building techniques using air-dry clay
Explore shapes, textures, and patterns with natural elements
Celebrate their creativity with a premium Baylato gelato cone (toppings included!)
No experience needed — just curiosity and imagination. All materials and tools are provided. Each child will take home their clay creation to treasure.

FARM KIDS
| MINI FARMERS TERM 4
Join us for an eight-week, hands-on Farm Kids Mini Farmers program exploring the colourful world of flowers, herbs, seeds and natural plant materials.
Across Term 4, children will explore real farm life through gardening, creative projects, sensory investigations and practical activities. From harvesting lavender and discovering pollinators to saving seeds, growing new plants, cooking with herbs and creating natural products, each week offers a new way to connect with the plants and ecosystems around them.

Learning is practical, playful and grounded in real farm experiences, with a focus on regenerative farming, sustainability and caring for the land. Thursday 17 December | Mini Farmers – Goat & Gather!
9am – 3pmMeet the farm’s playful goats and discover why these clever animals are such an important part of regenerative farming. Children will learn fascinating goat facts, discover the unique characteristics of different breeds and enjoy plenty of up-close farmyard interactions.
Activities include designing a dream goat shelter complete with climbing structures and cosy spaces, making a playful goat-themed bookmark and decorating farm-fresh muffins with homemade goat’s cheese icing.
Tuesday 22 December | Mini Farmers – Buzz & Bloom!
9am – 3pmStep into the world of bees and uncover the secrets of the tiny pollinators that help our gardens and farms thrive. Children will learn about bee life, explore the workings of a Flow Hive and discover how beekeepers safely care for their colonies through a real bee-suit demonstration.
Activities include enjoying a honey and herb tea ceremony, creating bee-themed printmaking and rolling handmade beeswax candles to take home.
Tuesday 29 December | Mini Farmers – Woolly Wonders!
9am – 3pmMeet the farm’s gentle sheep and discover the journey from fleece to fibre. Children will feed and pat the sheep while learning how they are cared for and how their wool is transformed into warm clothing and useful everyday items.
Activities include tasting sheep’s milk cheese, learning simple weaving techniques using natural sheep’s wool and crafting a sheep-themed pom-pom to take home.
Wednesday 6 January | Workshop – Sunshine & Sunbeams!
9.30am – 12.30pmCelebrate the warmth and wonder of the summer sun while discovering how sunlight helps gardens, animals and people thrive. Through playful outdoor investigations around the farm, children will explore the importance of sunshine in nature.
Activities include making a natural zinc sunscreen and painting a sunshine artwork inspired by the colours, light and energy of summer.
Thursday 7 January | Mini Farmers – Feather & Nest!
9am – 3pmDiscover the fascinating world hidden inside the humble egg. Children will meet the farm’s chickens, learn about the chicken life cycle and explore how an egg develops before a chick hatches.
Activities include candling fresh eggs to discover what may be hidden inside, pouring beeswax candles into eggshells and cooking pikelets using pasture-raised farm eggs.
Friday 8 January | Mini Farmers – Flower Power!
9am – 3pmStep into the colourful world of flowers and discover how they support pollinators, gardens and healthy farm ecosystems. Children will explore the flower gardens, learn about different blooms and gather inspiration from their colours, shapes and scents.
Activities include creating a flower crown, arranging a fresh posy to take home and planting a colourful flower row for future Farm Kids visitors to enjoy.
Wednesday 13 January | Workshop – Lavender & Calm!
9.30am – 12.30pmSlow down and discover the calming scent, beauty and many uses of lavender. Children will wander through the farm’s lavender garden, explore the plants up close and learn how lavender can be harvested and used in everyday life.
Activities include blending fragrant lavender bath salts and sewing a soft lavender pillow to take home.

Activities include painting native seed pods and bundling fragrant herb wands to dry at home.
Thursday 21 January | Mini Farmers – Seed to Supper!
9am – 3pmDig into the veggie garden and discover how fresh food grows from seed to plate. Children will learn about companion planting, seasonal summer crops and the joy of harvesting ingredients straight from the garden.
Activities include gathering fresh produce to make rice-paper rolls filled with colourful vegetables, as well as creating veggie-inspired illustrations and vibrant printmaking art.
Friday 22 January | Mini Farmers – Hens, Herbs & Hay!
9am – 3pmCluck into a fun-filled day learning all about happy, healthy chickens and their important role on the farm. Children will explore the chicken life cycle, meet different breeds and discover how chickens contribute to composting, healthy soils and sustainable gardening.
Activities include building a nesting box, preparing enrichment treats for the chickens and cooking egg and herb fritters using fresh farm ingredients.
