Greens From The Farm

Josh and Lynette Dooley have been at the Farm from the very start - in actual fact they are the start…

Three people in a garden or farm talking, one woman holding a basket full of vegetables, and the man on the right holding gardening scissors.

When Emma and Tom Lane were first dreaming up what a real “farmily” community looked like, they turned to Josh and Lynette to ask the how and why?

From a dream to a reality, Josh and Lynette have been here since before the doors first opened. Today, we feel The Farm was founded on their can-do attitude and desire to create fantastic food from the land.

As you drive down Ewingsdale Rd off the Pacific Highway into Byron, you’ll regularly spot the pair grafting away on their 1.5-acre plot growing some of the local market’s finest greens and supplying their good mates The Three Blue Ducks with real farm-to-fork foods you can as much enjoy by eye as you can by taste.

Making a livelihood growing organic produce wasn’t always on the radar for Josh and Lynette. Josh worked at the Retravision store in Byron Bay for 10 years, while Lynette was a chef from Sydney with time in the kitchen at Icebergs and Bills. She made the move to Byron Bay, where she met Josh, and the rest is history!

One week after their wedding, Josh and Lynette took their first delivery of seedlings and began planting out at The Farm. They now have two daughters, Lillian and Amelia, who are regular helpers in the Market Garden.

During peak times, Josh and Lynette plant between 3000 and 5000 seedlings a fortnight. They grow salad leaves, herbs, edible flowers, garlic, kale, spinach, rainbow chard, endive, Warrigal greens and more.

Outside of the Ducks restaurant, head to the Friday Mullum Markets to eat the freshest of greens from Josh & Lynette…
