Composting

Compost is an integral lifeforce that connects everything on The Farm. It is a living, breathing organism packed full of beneficial microbes, minerals and plant growth power!

Our team collects food waste, cafe waste, animal wastes and harvest waste from across the Farm and converts it into a beautiful chocolatey colored, earthly smelling compost. This process is driven by beneficial microscopic bacteria, fungi and yeasts.

This ‘black gold’ is then delivered to the growers collective and is applied to their food growing systems. Growers then harvest and supply their produce to the Three Blue Ducks. The restaurant prepares and serves this delicious produce to customers and any food waste goes back to the compost system. This collaboration has created an on-farm circular waste economy.
